Join the Orange County Performing Arts Center Saturday, October 11th, as they welcome saxophonist Branford Marsalis in an event entitled Marsalis Brasilianos. Long known as one of the giants of the Jazz world, in the new century, Grammy Award winning saxophonist Branford Marsalis continues his dedication to classical music. His 2001 Sony Classical recording Creation, which features the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, was the acclaimed saxophonist’s first classical recording in 15 years.

A celebration of the music of Heitor Villa-Lobos, featuring Branford Marsalis and members of the renowned Brazilian orchestra Philharmonic Brasileira. This fascinating new project commemorates the 50th Anniversary of the revered Brazilian composer’s death. The program is uniquely suited to Marsalis’ mastery of both Jazz and classical music, allowing the language of Villa-Lobos’ compositions to truly shine.
