Cafe Carlyle

Since opening in 1955, Cafe Carlyle has featured musical performances by legendary entertainers, as epitomized by the “master of melody” Bobby Short. A fixtures at Cafe Carlyle since 1986, Mr. Short was cabaret’s preeminent interpreter of such American composers as Cole Porter and Duke Ellington, and his urbane and elegant style will always be a part of Cafe’s traditiion.

Graced with charming murals by Vertes, Cafe Carlyle is uniquely intimate, delighting visitors whit its romantic setting and offerings of cabaret and jazz.




Bemelmans Bar

Tucked behind a discreet Madison Avenue doorway, Bemelmans Bar draws socialites, politicians, movie stars and magnates to its witty and glamorous settings. The spirit of the bar’s namesake artists/satirist Ludwig Bemelmans, live through the mural he created for the space. Entitled “Central Park,” the whimsical mural features a cameo appearance by Madeline and her classmates, and is the only surviving Bemelmans commission on view to the public.
