Steamers Jazz Club Welcomes Poncho Sanchez

Nov. 9th
(8:00 pm)
Fullerton, CA

Novemeber 9th Poncho Sancez & his Latin jazz band will play Steamers Jazz Club. A great conguero and widely respected as one of the top American percussionists of our time, Sanchez just celebrated his 57th birthday. Don’t let the age fool you, he’s still got the stuff.

Poncho Sanchez and his legendary band pay homage to some of his soul heroes in his latest release Raise Your Hand on Concord Picante. This album includes renditions of Stax soul classics “Raise Your Hand,” “Knock On Wood,” as well the Cuban son “¿Dónde Va Chichi?”.

Accompanying him in this performance is his great Latin jazz band, featuring Francisco Torres (trombone), Ron Blake (trumpet), Javier Vergara (saxophones), David Torres (piano), Tony Banda (bass), George Ortiz (timbales), and Alfredo Ortiz (bongo, tres).
