Walt Disney Concert Hall will host a tribute to legendary bassist Ray Brown this Wednesday, January 28, at 8 pm. Brown, who during his lifetime performed with such recording legends as Frank Sinatra, Billy Eckstine, Tony Bennett, Ella Fitzgerald, Oscar Peterson and Peggy Lee, was also a great influence on young musicians.

Among them was world-renowned bassist Christian McBride who, along with some of Ray’s former band mates as well as other top flight players, will pay homage to this beloved jazz giant. In addition to McBride, featured artists will include John Clayton (bass), Benny Green (piano), Russell Malone (guitar), Greg Hutchinson (drums), Ernie Andrews and Barbara Morrison (vocals), Karriem Riggins (drums) and Geoff Keezer (piano).
