Artist Background:
Born in Israel, 25 year old Yaala Ballin began her jazz career while in high school. Immersing herself in the artistry of Billie Holliday, Sarah Vaughn and Dinah Washington, with their profound synthesis of soul and sophistication, she rapidly became an integral part of Israel’s vibrant jazz community. Arriving in New York in 2005, she quickly won the admiration of many of the city’s brightest talents.

Travlin’ Alone is Ms. Ballin’s debut recording as a leader. The performances are highly personal statements, perfectly balancing each song’s narrative qualities with Ms. Ballin’s outstanding command of theory and harmony.
