Jazz pianist Laurence Hobgood is set to release his latest solo album When the Heart Dances. The album, which also features Kurt Elling (vocals) and Charlie Haden (bass), will be released August 11th, 2009 on Naim Jazz.

Laurence Hobgood finds himself in good company once again at Naim Jazz as Elling turns the tables and supports him and contributes his vocal talents to the recording, making it a varied collection of instrumentals and vocal treatments. The legendary bass player Charlie Haden also joins the session. Haden’s credentials are numerous dating back to the 50’s with Ornette Coleman and Keith Jarrett’s Trio.

The stellar support helps to make When the Heart Dances a special experience for all jazz fans. It is sure to become a Naim Jazz classic to remember and will continue to enrich their diverse catalog of artists.
