The contest is part of the promotional series to inform everyone of Poncho’s latest album, Psychedelic Blues. Released just a month ago, it is a tribute to the traditional Latin jazz roots and musical memories of his childhood. The album features a Latin-inspired version of the standard “Cantaloupe Island,” originally written by Herbie Hancock. The title track is a fast-moving mambo, originally written by Sonny Henry and arranged here by Francisco Torres.
