Smooth Jazz bassist Ethan (E-Bassman) Farmer re-releases his debut EP Wine & Strings. It’s just a sample of what will come with his full length album due out in late spring of 2013.

Ethan is a veteran in themusic industry, having started his illustrious ccareer at the ageof eght with the family band The Amazing Farmer Singers. From there, he went on to work with the likes ofJanet Jackson, Patti LaBelle, and most recently wrapping up a tour with Lionel Richie.

Ethan’s solo career has proved to be extremely successful thus far. The single “Watch” off of Wine & Strings has been climbing its way up the smooth jazz charts. It provides a fresh new sound that any jazz-funk admirer is eager to find.

Ethan Farmer is truly changing the way we hear music today. He has crafted and hone his talent to make the listening experience a journey. Blurring the lines and taking in the influences of jazz, funk, soul, and rock & roll, he has created an eclectic sound that are sure to be remembered for generations to come.

BIO:

Ethan Farmer (aka E-Bassman) is a Chicago native, represents the past, present and future of everything that Jazz is meant to be. With a professional career that has afforded him the opportunity to work with influential list of musical greats like Janet Jackson and Darius Rucker, he has a natural gift and ability on top of his passion and ear for music, defining him as a bass phenom.

Ethan was introduced to music early on, first picking up his father’s bass at the age of five and recevigin his own at six. Two years later, E-Bassman became the youngest member of the family group, TheAmazing Farmer Singers, markeing the beginning of a lifelong love and pursuit of music.

By sixteen, he had toured the country with the family group, and anxious to try out other genres, he was instantly drawn to R&B, Funk , and Soul. He spent the his late teen years travelling to music festivals around the world, including the North Sea Jazz Festival, Montreux Jazz Festival, Montreal Jazz festival, and the Jakarta Jazz Festival.

Having moved to Los Angeles in 1998, his career took another turn when he met gospel bass man Andrew Gouche. Gouche’s trust in Farmer led to his first big break, playing with Jody Watley on BET’s Planet Groove. From that point forward, Ethan’s career gained momentum, and E-Bassman was in high demand.

The creative process never ends for Ethan, who in addition to his own music is a member of two bands that he put together with friends. The Core is a Jazz fusion band reminiscent of the Yellow Jackets meets the Weather Report. When he isn’t touring, Ethan and his band can be found at the intimate venue Hotel Cafe in Los Angeles. E-Bassman also creates music with drummer Gordon Campbell for another outlet of expression.

Having had a successful tour, showcasing her debuting solo jazz ablum “I love”, Cristina Morrison leaves us with a video to wrap things up and relive the moments.

Background:

Cristina Morrison was born in Miami, Florida. She’s a multi- cultural woman not only because of her background that is a mix between Latin America and the United States but also from her “gypsy” life experiences. She has lived in Quito, Miami, Rome, Los Angeles, the Galapagos Islands and currently, New York City.

Musically, Cristina was the lead vocalist of her jazz-blues band called “The Baroness and her Lovers”. Her latest work in New York is the recording at Bennett Studios of her first original jazz solo album titled, “I Love”. Here she showcases her talent as a singer-songwriter and is accompanied by fine jazz musicians.

Currently, in repertoire, she’s portraying five different women roles throughout three generations in the staging of “The Aging of the Plum” written by the Argentine Aristides Vargas. The play has been invited to various theatre festivals to countries like Mexico and Brazil among others TBA. Cristina also holds under her sleeve a future film production project based on a journalistic chronicle which she bought the rights for.

Renowned muralist and artist John Allinson of Cardiff, Wales has released a new jazz painting. Measuring 4’ tall and 9’ wide, it is was made in 3’ wide panels which can be configured in any way you would want.

Background:

John Allinson has achieved success as a mural painter over the past twenty years working in several countries for private and corporate clients.

His work encompasses themes for restaurants, hotels and bars, for airports and swimming pools. He paints mainly in acrylics, overlaying colour to produce extreme light effects.

Christina comes out with her new song “I Love”. Morrison is down with the concept of old school dames, but she has a pomo sensibility all the way. Probably hiding a resltess artist gehind a coll facade, Morrison diches her last persona but doesn’t leave it too far behind as crime jazz mixes with after hours mixes with just about everything else that could be smoky.

An accomplished actress, a graduate of the prestigious American Academy of Dramatic Arts, Ms. Morison’s talent has been hailed as “chameleonic and versatile ” and she brings these same qualities to her music on an album that melds jazz, blues, folk and pop sensibilities of the U.S. with samba, bossa nova and other South American influences, in a unique mélange that is all her own.

Born of mixed American and Ecuadorian parentage in Miami, Morrison has resided in Rome, Quito, the Galapagos Islands, Los Angeles and now New York City, resulting in a multicultural world view that is reflected in her music, which is informed by her myriad life experiences and keen observations into the nature of the human character.

Joining Morrison is a roster of first class New York players, headed by the singer’s “partner in crime” saxophonist/composer Christian Hidrobo, a longtime colleague from her jazz band The Baroness & Her Lovers, who contributed the appealing melodies that accompany the singer’s own engaging lyrics, which are utterly cinematic in their vivid imagery.
